Did you ever wonder why the Jewish people have been hated and persecuted for thousands of years by many people groups from all around the world? To get the answer, you must go back all the way to the creation of mankind.
In the beginning, God created man. God placed him in the Garden of Eden and told them that he should take care of the garden. “…And the Lord God commanded the man, ‘You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat of it you will surely die.’” Genesis, 2:16 (NIV)
God saw that it was not good for man to be alone, so He made for him a female companion. The man called her woman. Now Satan, disguised as a crafty serpent tricked the woman into eating of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. The woman also gave the fruit to the man for him to eat.
“14So the Lord God said to the serpent, ‘Because you have done this,
‘Cursed are you above all the livestock and all the wild animals! You will crawl on your belly and you will eat dust all the days of your life.
15And I will put enmity between you and the women, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel.”” Genesis, 3:14-15 (NIV)
In the previous paragraphs you saw how Satan was the one who was opposing God. Now pay special attention to what happened in Genesis, 3:15. The woman’s offspring will crush the head of Satan. This is the origin of antisemitism. Anything that has to do with the offspring of the woman, Satan will oppose.
Satan’s first attempt to thwart the plan of God, as outlined in Genesis, 3:15, was to contaminate the gene pool of humanity.
“When men began to increase in number on the earth and daughters were born to them, the sons of God saw that the daughters of men were beautiful, and they married any of them they chose. …The Nephilim were on the earth in those days -and also afterward – when the sons of God went to the daughters of men and had children by them. …” Genesis, 6:1-4 (NIV)
“The Lord saw how great man’s wickedness on the earth had become, and that every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil all the time. The Lord was grieved that he had made man on the earth, and his heart was filled with pain. So the Lord said, ‘I will wipe mankind, whom I have created, from the face of the earth – men and animals, and creatures that move along the ground, and birds of the air – for I am grieved that I have made them.’ But Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord.” Genesis, 6:5-8 (NIV)
There is a lot to unpack in the previous quotes. First, the expression “sons of God” mean a direct creation by God. Angels are a direct creation of God. Also, both Adam and Eve are a direct creation of God. However, in the previous verse, we are talking of angels. Specifically, fallen angels. The angels that joined forces with Satan and rebelled against God. In the previous verse, the fallen angels left their demonic sphere of existence and entered the human sphere of existence. These angels became like human males, had sexual relations with human women, and their offspring were a race of creatures that were superhuman. This race was called the Nephilim. A race of fallen ones. They were superhuman in both mental and physical capabilities and some were very large in stature. However, the main point was that they were demonic in nature. Therefore, the offspring of the woman in God’s plan could never come from a race that had any demonic genetics. This was the reason for the worldwide Flood in the time of Noah. God needed to cleanse the earth of all the people that might have any genetic characteristics of the fallen angels. Noah and his family were determined to be pure in their genetics and God fearing in their nature. So, they were selected as the ones to repopulate the earth.
At this time in human history, the Jewish people did not exist. They come after the population of the earth was replenished. However, what has been shown thus far is that Satan will go through great lengths to destroy the offspring of the woman in God’s plan as outlined in Genesis, 3:15. Satan is the origin of antisemitism.
